The clinic is under the direction of Jeff Lewandowski, PT, DPT, ATC, MTC, SCS. Dr. Lewandowski has been practicing since 1986 treating patients with general orthopedic and sports related injuries. He is an educator as well as a clinician. Dr. Lewandowski is a former instructor in the graduate Sports Medicine Program at Georgia State University and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Emory University School of Medicine, Division of Physical Therapy. He was awarded the 2019 Clinical Educator of the Year award from Emory University.
Dr. Lewandowski has taught numerous seminars throughout the country on the evaluation and treatment of the knee, shoulder and foot/ankle injuries and was able to teach with world-renowned orthopedic physical therapist Dr. Kevin Wilk. He also authored the book Evaluation of Non-Orthopedic Sports Injuries (Slack Inc.). He has recently presented at the Emory Annual Sports Medicine Symposium on the topics of patella instability, ACL rehabilitation, and blood flow restriction training. And he has spoken at Gwinnett Medical Center on dry needling, as well as ankle sprains and rotator cuff tendinopathy.
He received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from the University of Missouri, his Physical Therapy degree from Rockhurst College, his Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and his Advanced Clinical Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine. Dr. Lewandowski is a Board-Certified Clinic Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy and a Board-Certified Athletic Trainer. He has had the opportunity to treat many college, Olympic, and professional athletes.
Dr. Lewandowski also has a special interest in dance medicine/physical therapy. Although not a dancer himself, his daughter is an accomplished dancer. She was a principal dancer in a Netflix’s movie/musical, she is in company at the Cobb County Center for Excellence in the Performing Arts (Cobb county magnet program at Pebblebrook High School), and an apprentice at the Kanyok Arts Initiative, an established dance training program based in NYC. After treating his daughter and her dance friends for their injuries, he has taken advanced courses in the evaluation and treatment of dance injuries.
Dr. Lewandowski enjoys spending his time out of the office with his family, which includes his wife, daughter, and five step-children. He also likes boating and fitness activities.
